Sixteen Tons

Weedeater to me is like a fine recipe. It has elements of a few different bands I like, yet retains enough of it's own originality to stand on its own two feet. Theres a lil' bit of Eyehategod. A dash of Bongzilla, but only a dash of Bongzilla if you can imagine the mighty zilla on 16 tons of anger. And maybe even a bit of bassist/vocalist Dixie's former band Buzzoven. This newest offering from the mighty Weedeater is one super heavy, ultra raw slab of crusty metal ready to eat your face off. The riffs are chunky and big as hell. Keko's drums keep the rhythm grounded and tight. And Dixie's vocals are just over the top insane. They don't even sound human. And I mean even more so then the average growler/screamer. The only way I can think that he got this vocal sound is to have shoved the whole fucking mic into his mouth. I dunno. You'll just have to check it out to see what I mean. I would definatley check this out if your into any of the bands I mentioned above. And if you have the chance to check 'em out live I recommend it twice as much as these dudes totally crush. A few months back I was with these guys and they let us hear some rough mixes of new tracks their doing with legendary engineer Billy Anderson and the shit crushes even more. Get it when it comes out and in the meantime get Sixteen Tons! So stop reading and get to it!
