NO RETREAT are back. More Violent and Brutal then ever. CD starts off with an intro begining with some feedback, then busts into a serious hardcore beatdown. I think i've heard this live before. This intro sounds like an intro to WAR. Gettin mutherfuckers violent and ready. First up is "Talk is Cheap". A great opening track. Frank has expanded his vocal range. He has some new hardcore vocals. Very cool style, not as low, but sounds good. Listen to the song some more and find out he still does the brutal low vocal style that he is known for. 2:40 into the song comes a short but sweet guitar solo, high pitched and fuckin METAL! Third up is "One More War". The main riff kinda reminds me of Slayer done Hardcore style. Which reminds me, as i listen to this i can tell that they have grown musically. Songs are more technical, and more METAL. The beatdowns are more painfull. This is raw hardcore. No bullshit, No mainstream here. PURE HARDCORE.
Next up is "$" This song is about what i don't know too much about, as i am always broke. But the lyrics are good and to the point. This song has some slow parts that are heavy as concrete. Track 5 is "Blood Brothers." This song is about having your bro's back, good jam. Fuck yeah, the title track "Pray for Peace" is next. This song is the best on the album, and the without a doubt the most brutal. With vocals from Mad Joe Black & Eddie the Razor. This song is has some violent and graphic lyrics and i dig em. Best line in the song is by Frank: "Beat the Motherfucker to the pavenent, hide the Motherfucker in the basement" The fast parts in the song actually sound like someone swingin and throwin blows. And the beatdowns also sound like someone is getting the piss beat of em. Next is "One by One" which has vocals by Sammy Hunter.
Another killer track: "My Other Half." I first heard this song on the Steel City 5 compilation. Up now is "Room for Hate" which has a cool upbeat part to it. I'm pretty sure this song is about throwin down and fighting for respect. Next up is Judged by Twelve, which starts off with a B.F.L. intro, check this out: B.F.L. Correctin some problems, PA Hardcore Brotherhood, Comin at you Respect it and Fear it. This is another one of my favorite songs off this album. As this cd comes to an end, there are two songs left, "Visionary" and "When Will It End?" When will it end, has additonal vocals by E.Corbin on it. As you can tell by this review, All songs on this cd are good, not just a few but ALL. NO RETREAT have succesfully put out one of the most Brutal and Violent Hardcore cds i've ever heard. I was cheezed when i found this cd in the mail. Keep up the Butality!! - - DJ Bushmado
