oh, say can you see
by the blasphemous light,
what so evil they wrought
was so callous and savage
mere words cannot describe certain things. the concept
of time, the color of hate, the horror of mortality,
the face of evil incarnate. this film, AUGUST
UNDERGROUND'S MORDUM, is one of these things. in the
span of 90 or so odd minutes, you are subjected to the
most vicious, contemptuous, and traumatizing images to
ever be recorded.
the film, which is a quasi-remake of the seminal film
AUGUST UNDERGROUND, takes the BLAIR WITCH idea of
"found footage" to the nadir of depravity. Without
revealing too much, the idea is that this film is the
private home video footage shot by a trio of savage
serial killers. this is what they'd shoot, no filler,
no flinching.
the effects are done flawlessly and the performances
are affecting. truly standing out are the performances
of the killers in question. i guarantee that every one
of you readers out there know people like these
degenerates. that's where the real terror comes in.
his could be real. this could be happening right next
door. this could happen to you.
also on the dvd is a documentary on indie filmmaking
entitled GROTESQUE FANTASIES. this is the funniest
damn movin' picture i done ever did see. it shows the
other side of the minds behind toe tag, as ther is
more than shock in their collective genius. the minds
of and around toe tag are picked clean on a variety of
topics about entertainment in general. don't miss the
campy creep's segments, as they are the highlight of
no-budget filmmaking art. and the end credits are
literally vomit enducing. trust me. i wouldn't lead
you astray.
