This band just pulled a fast one on me. On the back of the promo disc I was given Earache described them
"Like Napalm Death, Brutal Truth and Extreme Nois
Terror".Upon hearing the opening track I immediately
dismissed Earache as having the worst promotional team
on Earth. What I heard was a good-ass, mid paced,
crusty groove band. "Brutal Truth my ass I thought".
Then the second song kicked in. I GOT SUCKERED! This
stuff is fast! It is grind! And it has fast punk beats
with that crusty twist. Much like old Napalm Death!
Sometimes I am even reminded of old Carcass. A good
example of this is a song called "At Arms Length".
Most of the vocals are deep and gravel throated with
the occassional high scream for a twist. My only
complaint with the vocals is a once in a while clean
vocal like on "static". Not a bad sounding vocal, just
doesn't mesh well with the rest of it. I would suggest
this to anyone who like grinding, punkish crusty grooves.... |
