This is my first review for Bushmado and I have to say I am pleased that this is the disc I get to review. It may be a little unfare that I was already a fan of Milligram before I was even handed the disc. I downloaded the mp3's off the traktor7 site for this is class war about 3 months ago. It goes to show you the power of the internet kiddies. I am afraid its a little to late to see these guys in concert though. They disbanded in the Summer of 2002. Hailing from Boston and composed of members of Only Living Witness, Miltown, Roadsaw and Slapshot, Milligram have really impacted the rock circuit like no other in a long time. They set out to make a great record and that is exactly what they did with "This is Class War." Originally titled "Death to America", Milligram really make some load heavy rock. This album is real gritty and riff heavy. Think of The Melvins with more attitude. Darryl Sheppard's guitar fuzz is second to none. The low end is pummeling. Cheap headphones do this record no justice. It needs to be cranked load through some quality monitors. With such anthems as "Let's Kill", "Let's Pretend We Don't Know Eachother" and "Let's get Fucked Again" Milligram doen't let up. Halfway through they slow things down with the trippy instrumental "Summer of Lies." Then it hits with the force of an 18 wheerler with "Nice Problem". This really sets the mood for the rest of the album. "Saturation Emission" and "She's a Prostitute." They flow together as if they are the same song. Jonah's voice is belted across all tracks with the force of an A-Bomb. The production is good; but it keeps the live raw sound. They sound like they are in your living room pounding this shit out. This album should be listened to from begining to end. Their hasn't been a band that hit with this kind of impact since Kyuss in my opinion. Any fan of rock should buy this album. I just wish they were around for one more show.
