MEATJACK have returned. This time with "DAYS OF FIRE" 10 songs of pure underground original music that only MEATJACK can come up with. There's less Nosie and more Metal. Take the first song "Sleep" for example, song starts off with a new MEATJACK style that's kinda cleaned up, not as much noise as previous releases. Then in the second song "50 years" 1:02 into the song comes a killer Slayer inspired riff, fuckin METAL! But even before that you can tell this is classic MEATJACK, and in this song there's some noise, not too much though. Vocals really turned out good on this cd. In fact there's some really good crisp production. 1:15 into the third song comes a sweet musical transition, with some crazy guitar stuff happening. Then at the 2:20 mark, the song switches up to a breakdown with sick distorted vocals and fuzzed out bass and heavy as hell guitar. Goddamn MEATJACK rules. This song has a killer Apocalyptic sound similar to NEUROSIS. Track 4: "Face Down" is just nuts. The shit these guys pull off is amazing, and yes they do it perfectly live. And i've noticed these songs are a bit longer that older MEATJACK tunes. These guys have definelty grown musically.Title Track "Days of Fire" starts off kinda mellow than just goes insanely loud and heavy. "45." is a fast but short song clocking in at 45 seconds. "Crawl" is the last jam on this cd. And for 3 1/2 minutes its just instrumental, no vocals or drums. This song is a good way to end this disc. I think everyone reading this should order this cd if you don't already own it. Much thanks goes out to At A Loss for sending me this, as MEATJACK has been one of my top 5 favorite bands for a few years now. MEATJACK rules! - -DJ Bushmado
