Kung Pao are a stoner rock band from Brooklyn, NY. They are big into denim and heavy as hell riffs. They are a stripped down 3 piece rock band with a raw sound. The guitars that Chovie brings are straight forward and very rock. He likes to add as much feedback as you can handle in a single track. T.B. who does most of the vocals also plays one hell of a mean bass. These tracks are nice and sludgy with low gritty vocals. The songs range from political to good party tunes. Kung Pao seem to know how to have a good time and it shows through their music. Track 4 "Poppin Wheelies" displays the the muscle of the band. Furious with the lead foot during the rock, slow and steady during the verse. Drummer Davey D shows he knows more than 1st and 2nd gear on this track. There is more groove on this record than the whole Motown Collection. If Helmet and the Melvins gave birth to a denim clad hell child they would have named him Kung Pao. Enough with the labels and bad comparisons. Get this album, crank it loud, crank it often.........
