Could you introduce yourself and what is your role in Dragon Green?
Joe America, I play bass in Dragon Green.
How and when did Dragon Green form?
If I remember correctly, early 2000. Mike Clancey(Guitar) and Manimal(Drums) were jamming with another
un-named guy and needed a bass player, I came up from Philly for a few weekends.
After a few weeks we dropped the 2nd guitar player and I moved back permanantly.
Did the vocal free thing for over a year, now we have John up front, and we've got a awesome
visual set-up thanks to Mike Ireton. Here we are today
So whats the new vocalist sound like? does he sing, or just scream?
He's awesome. 60 year old bourbon drinkin blues man meets Hetfield, meet Fallon. Raspy and rockin'!
Where do you get the material for the visual set up? do you use trippy scenes from movies?
Yeah, Mike is a total film warrior. We use a combo of film and slide projection.
Pics we take ourselves, stole, scan, whatever we need to do.
Old LSD films, horror, war, religous, whatever seems cool.
When all is put together with the right amount of drugs, it tells a great story
.
It's more or less something we do for ourselves and others seem to dig it, it's very cool.
That sounds awesome, where are you guys located and is there much of a scene there?
We're from Allentown, PA. This is the worst place on Earth. We do shows in our practice space, The Sweatshop, from time to time.
We had Electric Wizard here, Warhorse, Weedeater, Myles of Destruction.
There's a scene if you're into Ratt and poppy punk, not my gig.
Everyone who comes here is amazed that such a small city can suck so bad, it's the worst thing ever.
Just last week a friend of ours had his face busted up for his wallet.
A year or so ago one of the guys next door was robbed at gun point. Terrible, terrible place
Man that sucks you should move to pittsburgh
We're moving the whole outfit into the woods this summer. Getting some land and a farm house.
Recording there all summer long with the guy who did the last CD.
We're all going to party in a barn and enjoy the peace

Favorite thing to do when your high?
Play riffs, listen to riffs, watch old Drag Racing flicks, fuck, and get higher
Favorite way to smoke weed? blunts,bongs,bowls,etc.
Bongs, for sure, are the best. Nothing beats 'em.
Clancey got me a huge piece of glass for christmas a few years ago, greatest gift ever.
We have a gas mask that rocks. We're also into really fat joints.
Made a bong out of a coconut a few weeks ago.
A coconut? that rules. my fav is a gravity bong
OHHHH!!! Forgot about those. We build one from time to time. Before DG got together I'd come home from Philly and hit gravity bongs and vomit.
Ireton and I, those were good times. Smoke, vomit, then listen to Sleep
Sleep? what are they like?
Sleep? I don't even know if I can explain it. If you like to smoke yourself retarded and lay there and listen to the most stoner thing on earth, you'll like Sleep.
Total stoner/doom/outerspace... you have to hear it.

Wow....Hendrix I think. I'd like to eat acid and ask him what the fuck he's thinking.

he was probably a trip to hang with.
Nah, i never seen Rainbow Bridge. Are you into Pink Floyd at all?
Aside from trying to do my work and this interview, I just got dumped. This is a strange morning.
Yeah, love Floyd. I used to live with this spanish guy and his wife in Olde City,
we'd drink huge bottles of Belgian Ale and smoke tons of this homegrown dope
he had in his yard and we'd listen to Floyd and talk about crazy shit.
