Interview with CREATED TO KILL

So when & how exactly did CREATED TO KILL form and
how has it been so far?
Created to kill probley truly began in the summer
of 2004 with me Steve Forbes and guitarist Greg Brewer
{longtime friend of mine}had been trying to start a
band for years.I was singing in the begining and
we tried abe out as a bass player.At his audition
he sang a little and sounded great.I wanted to
concentrate on guitar, so we put Abe on vocals.Abe
knew someone else to put on bass{Joey Eustice}.
After a few months Greg lost interest and left
the band.We Audtioned many drummers no one could
keep up with the speed of the songs we had written.
So we turned to Brad Jackson{Guitarist for Angerstrike}
he created the drum beats on a Pc for us.After that
we started recording our Demo.Then Joey started having problems
with the law and began missing practices.After about 2 months
he decided it was best for him to leave.We've tried for at
least 6 months to find someone to take his place.Kentucky
isn't known for having too many death metal musicians.
So Abe decided that he would play bass and sing.
Who all consists of CREATED TO KILL?

I tottally dig the band name "CREATED TO KILL" who
came up with this band name, and what is your meaning
behind it?
I came up with it just popped into my head
like a vision or something.No hidden meaning behind it
other than humans were all created to kill by design.
haha
Is it correct to say that you guys are a 2 piece?
are you looking to replace the drum machine with a
drummer?
Yeah were just a 2-piece for the moment.
We would love to have a real drummer if someone
who had the skills was interested.
I seen you have demo recordings available online,
where did you record these tracks? Are you planning on
recording again soon?
We recorded those tracks in my basement
on a Pc program called n-track basically a digital 4 track.
We are writing more songs right now and we're planning on releasing
a 2nd demo in the fall and a full length album by next summer.
We have 3 new songs that haven't been recorded yet.
How is the Metal scene in Kentucky? Many bands?
Places to play? to be honest CREATED TO KILL is the
first band i've gotten into from Kentucky.
The scene here is very slow.There are a few bands Abominant
and Mangled Atrocity and really no where to play unless
you go and rent a place yourself.I'm glad we have sparked your interest.
What genre of METAL do you consider CREATED TO
KILL?
death metal? death grind? or are you against labeling
as such?

Dude, i heard the SLAYER cover you did of CRIONICS,
fucking awesome. Show No Mercy is without a doubt one
of my favorite SLAYER cds. Do you play any other
covers? have you recorded any other covers?
yeah Show No Mercy kills!We do a cover of Deicide's
Oblivious to Evil on the demo.We plan on putting another
cover on our next demo.we haven't decided on what yet
though.Abe has talked about Metallica's Harvester of Sorrow.
Do you guys play out live much? Where do you
usually play? Any bands you usually play shows with?
Come to Pittsburgh sometime!
Playing out has proven to be a delima.
We have had a show lined up locally in Danville,Ky.I had set
up a show with Lust of Decay Headlining and a local Hardcore
group called Red Eye Eclipse,but Lust of decay had to cancel.
So we've only played at parties in my basement,but we got offered
to play bloodfest this year, but we didn't think we had enough
original material to do a show like that.We will for sure be out there at
the fests next year so be looking for us!
We would definitley come to Pittsburgh to do a show just say when
and where brother.

What are some of the previous bands you've been
in?
This is the first real band for me i played in a few
cover bands nothing worth metioning though.Abe was in
a band called Murder Divine.
Do you remember the first METAL show or concert
you attended?
Clash of the Titans tour 1991
Slayer/Megadeth/Anthrax- killer show!
What band would you say got you into Metal?
Black Sabbath
Now that metal is popular again, what are your
thoughts of it being in the mainstream? With
Headbangers Ball on mtv2, and all the METAL shows on
the Fuse Channel, and such. I actually like seeing
Death Metal on tv. Just curious to what your thoughts
on this? Do you think it will last?
It's great that metal is popular again!It may or
may not stay popular but the scene will also be there
unlike alot of other genres metal always has had fans
and always will be it in the mainstream or underground.

Does CREATED TO KILL party much? any smokers or
drinkers?
We Are! I drink but quit smoking weed a while back
about 95.Abe quit all drugs a while back as well.
Thoughts on the war in Iraq?
I think we should just turn the middle east into
a parking lot. Same as we did Japan in WW2.
What can we expect from CREATED TO KILL in the
near future?
We plan to get a full length out there and to
play as many shows as we can.Maybe do a video as well.
