Beecher=mediocre. For a few reasons. Notice I didn't
say they suck. They don't. There is a great deal of
musicianship here. You can tell they've paid some
dues. The thing is that it just sounds like too many
other bands. But, without sounding like a single one.
Does that make sense? I think it's mainly due to the
vocals. He sounds like every heavy vocalist who has
surfaced in the last 2 years. Mid to high range
shouts/screams mixed with "my pussy hurts so I'll
whine" clean vocals. STOP WHINING DUDE!!! I can see
him at home now reading this "I'm not whining, I am
expanding as an artist". No, sorry man, you are not.
That shit doesn't fly with me anymore. Expanding does
not mean getting softer. I'm sorry, it just does not.
However, when it comes to the music here I have to
admit there is something there. Yes, this band does do
alot of shit everyone else does. But, when start to
dismiss it, BAM! They manage to hit you with something
hooky or all out creative. I'd say if you can get past
the mozzarella vocals AND find it used somewhere for
cheaper than new, give it a shot, otherwise, forget it..... |
