It's been a long time since I've heard something that grabbed me by the ass like this album did. This might be the most exciting and important release in years. I have yet to see this band live, but the seven inch that I just traded my Blue Oyster Cult live album for is the best thing to grace my turntable in decades.

Crime is an acoustic folk/punk seven inch from the band Against Me. I've heard that the cd version has two extra tracks, but I have yet to hear that. The four tracks on the seven inch are energetic punk played on an acoustic guitar and a small drumkit. Both members of the duo share vocal duties, with the guitarist taking the lead and he drummer filling in the empty spaces with mournful wails. Musically, the songs could've come out of any Johnny Cash album, while the lyrics read like Joe Strummer as sung by Jake from No Use For A Name.

If you like well-written, heartfelt punk, do yourself a favor and find this gem. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, go directly to yopur local distributor and buy this release.
